Great Workout
This DVD is a great workout. I've only done the beginner workout and it sure has worked and toned my abs. I highly recommend it. I tried the Ab lounger and that did not get to my abs. I felt nothing. I tried other equipment and the best was the Abs Ball. It weighs only 8lbs and seems so light but it does the job. It's worth it and I recommend it.

A Home Workout Staple
I LOVE Hip Hop Abs! I have never been one to enjoy exercising but definitely needed something to keep me active and I was tired of donating to gyms (going maybe once in a year's time!). Hip Hop Abs was the answer for me! I actually look forward to popping in the dvd and dancing up a sweat (honestly!). Before I know it the time has slipped away and I've completed an awesome cardio workout. Shaun T keeps me motivated and moving the entire time he keeps me pushing myself to my limit during the duration of every workout. I have a pretty bad back and knee and am always afraid of re-injuring myself when I try new workouts---I am pleased to say any of the aches I feel after this workout are all in the right places (especially my abs and butt!)! No knee or back pain whatsoever! If I start a dvd a little more sore than usual I'll follow "Tanya" who provides modifications for all the moves and still get in a great workout. I have accumulated a plethora of workout dvd's from yoga to tae bo to cardio express and Jillian Michael's...but I keep coming back to Hip Hop Abs. It's really as fun as a workout can get! Enjoy!

Good value for a good power tower
The Weider 200 is available through Amazon but for $149.00 delivered Bayou Fitness offers a better deal. The 200 is rugged solid and is rated for persons weighing up to 300 lbs compared to 200-250 lbs. for similarly priced units.
I already own a Weider Max (i.e. Crossbow) which I'm happy with but I wanted something that would allow me to do pull-ups and the captain's chair exercise. I hate doing crunches and a study by the Biomechanics Lab at San Diego State University ranked the captain's chair as the most effective exercise for working the obliques and second most effective for working the rectus abdominus. The 200 works well for these and related exercises. I don't use it for pushups but the awkwardly placed lower crossbar could be a problem.
Time from order to deliver by Fed. Ex. Ground was about 10 days. The instructions are straightforward and assembly took about an hour. As with the Max the instructions state a rubber mallet and two people are required for assembly. The mallet is unnecessary and never again mentioned in the instructions and I had no difficulty assembling it by myself. You will require two wrenches and a screwdriver however.
Another reviewer commented that it doesn't take up a lot of space. I suppose the concept of "a lot of space" is relative but the 200 isn't something that like the Max can be folded up and stored against the wall or in a corner. It's pretty big and moving it to a different room will require partial disassembly so plan on assembling it where you intend to use it.

Works as advertised.
I shopped around and I have many years of fitness experience and so I didn't make this choice lightly. Yes it smells of chemicals but it's probably because it was packed before the paint fully cured. The smell goes away by the time you get it together and use it a couple of times. The grips are good but they're a bit soft and made of foam so I don't expect they'll last a long time. The area of the bar that comes into contact with the doorframe is a hard plastic with a textured surface that will leave an impression in the wood plus the natural up-down flex will rub a bit. The flat area on the back is fine and I don't see any noticeable marks on the wall. Yes some of the more gimmicky exercises rank right up there with using it as a grill for a compact pickup. Still there's no simpler way to have pull-up capability at home. Portable? Yes. Does it come apart easily for compact transport? Don't even think about it. The beauty is it goes on quick you work out then put it away. Truly easy effective and versatile since there are more grip locations than the single bar type. I even use the bends where there is no foam and it's no problem. I bought some fitness bands to keep my reps high and I just leave them on it and use them as I desire. Can't test the weight limit though I'm less than a buck 50. The top 20 guide is a leaflet and my "kit" came with no tools. Didn't use the included brackets. The stupidest thing they did with this kit is provide you a "printed on both sides" piece of paper of 20 exercise pictures but NONE of them use the bar. The only exercise pictures using the bar are on the box which I am sure most people will throw away/recycle. Come on guys sheesh. Still a great product.

I can see my ABS!
I never write reviews but I had to just for this product!
I ordered this after seeing Brett on Bridget Smith's morning show now a days I have to see a product in action before diving in and making that purchase. Well I am glad I bought this in less than 3 weeks my abs are already starting to come in.
I am already lean already and had abs before ---my stats 145lbs male 5'10. I have tried a lot of workouts to basically get my flat stomach more defined this program hits my core and engages my ABS in every workout. Talk about being sore!!! Brett the trainer does a good job by letting us know to FIRE you abs even during the most simple exercises so you are always working out your abs!! These workouts are not long at all which is great for me I tend to get bored or call it lazy with long workouts with these I have no excuse.
Im looking forward to finishing phase 1 and "Rev"ing it up for phase 2! Look out SUMMER!!!!

Works great with the GFID31 Bench. Exercises are leg curls and extensions. I use them for complimentary exercises with squats and dead lifts. Easy to assemble.

Assembled easily and really works
I liked how quickly I was able to assemble this device. It took me about 15 minutes. Although it's small when you use it appropriately it's quite sturdy. I ordered it to help with poor back flexibility. However I was quite surprised at how effective it was at exercising my abs. It seems the abs work to keep you stable while you arch back toward the floor. I recommend this product for people who are looking to stretch their spines but need some support while doing so. However mind the instruction to move slowly. You get the best benefit from that.

Very good workout!!!!!!
I love this workout beacause combine two of the techniques that I love yoga and callanetics. It is hard but fun your legs will work from all the angles so it is a perfect workout for the lower body. I love it.!!!!!

My mother loves it as a slantboard.
Though it is wider than many it is still a little too narrow a board for passive-traction use. May be fine for active sit-ups and by the way the picture's "slant" is obviously exagerrated!

A funny thing about this machine (and others like it):
For all of the supposed 'resistance' built into this machine it enables you to do many -more- repetitions than you'd be able to do of simple bodyweight 'core' exercises(crunches leg lifts situps and a multitude of others). Why is that and what is the effect? 1/ Why : The resistance is -less- than the resistance supplied by the weight of your own body being moved around without any equipment. The so-called 'resistance' actually -assists- you on the return motion the exact opposite of exercise.2/The Effect: You must do an incredibly high number of repetitions do get any effect at all and it won't be much even then. High rep work should be full-body cardio not isolated ab work. Ab work should be the same as any other muscle-building work : After you can do 15 reps the resistance should be raised: Exercising the abs obliques other core muscles to strengthen and build them. If an exercise doesn't get difficult enough to make you stop after a minute or so it simply isn't difficult enough to do you any good. There is no such thing as spot reducing exercise. Modern ads know better than to claim the lie of spot-reduction but they still strongly imply it. Why do they get away with it? : Because people never stop looking for an easy way out. The re-sale value of these gizmos goes down to around 5 bucks as soon as you own it. Why? : Because the market is flooded with as-seen-on-tv home-exercise junk that's collecting dust.

3 years and still going strong
I bought this off of an infomercial three (maybe more) years ago and I still love the workouts. The DVDs give you the option of running through the workout in order or using shuffle to change it up. The 25 minute core workout is effective given the short time frame and the advanced workout is truly challenging. I actually enjoy that Gunnar has the viewer standing sitting and moving around. It helps pass the time. I'm glad to see that Amazon still sells this as I've recently recommended this workout to several friends. My stability ball has survived two moves and is still going strong. Overall I was very happy with this product and only wish that Gunnar made more workouts for me to buy.

A little deceptive
The claim:
"You don't need tools or fasteners for installation nor will you damage the doorframe."
"There are no screws and no damage to door."
The reality:
You don't see this in the ads or product description but the Power Trainer Elite is installed in the door frame using two mounting brackets. The brackets are installed with a total of eight woodscrews. The brackets are supposed to be screwed into studs but some door frames don't have studs where the brackets need to be installed.
The Bonus P90X Workout DVD is actually an advertisement to buy the P90X workout system.
The Power Trainer itself seems to be well made and should ultimately work for me.

A definite improvement over previous model
I reviewed the previous Slendertone belt and indicated there that I was going to try this one out. I am glad I did. The programming and intensity range of controls is vastly improved and the recharge-ability of the device is a true plus. I have been using the unit for approximately three weeks and it has definitely helped me to restart an exercise program after several months off due to illness. Because the controls are much less bulky the unit is easier to wear under clothing and much easier to exercise with while wearing. I am not quite sure why one of the reviewers is so negative on this device. Right now I am using it an intensity of "40" and i clearly get quite an involuntary muscular workout from it. My wife has commented that she can see the involuntary reactions while the muscle stimulation is working. Granted I lost a lot of wight while ill and at 6'3" and 162 pounds the belt doesn't have to reach "far" in order to stimulate my abs.
I would knock off a half star because of the proprietary connector between the recharger plug and the controller. I recently went on a trip and I left the wall plug at my hotel. Fortunately the battery lasted for several days after recharging and so I had no problem waiting for the hotel to ship the plug back to me. But if I had lost it for sure I would have been SOL. I contacted Slendertone customer support and a week later they still have not responded to my request for a replacement plug.

Apple-shaped woman developing waist!!!
I had no waist-a tire of fat where it should be. Victim to the low-rise jean fad I suffered from plumber's butt and bunched-waist in the back of my jeans. I decided something must be done. I smoke previously did no exercise and have a couch potato lifestyle.
After using the abs ball for two weeks (2-3 times a week) I felt tighter in my waist. I saw no definition but jiggled less. After a month I could feel my obliques inderpendently of my lower and upper ab muscles when I exercised. This helped me execute the exercises better: when I first started I could not feel any muscles at all when I exercised which caused me to rely completely on mimicking the tranier on the dvd when attempting to do each exercise correctly. Now I know when I am working the right muscles! It has been two and a half months and I am beginning to see a waist!!! I can wear my jeans from high school!!! All my old jeans fall off of me now and though I do not yet have a 6 pack all of this happened without me doing anything else-no cardio I still smoke and I have not dieted (I just switched from simple carbs to complex carbs whenever I can). I just recently switched to the advanced workout this week and still sweat! This is a great little ball-do the exercise 2 to 3 times a week and stick to it as it won't let you down.

Waste of money
When I got this product it never worked. The place where u would put the battery was loose so when I moved the thing would stop working. Even when I remained still it would stop working because of the movement it created just from itself & then I would have to open it & push the battery back in again.

This one works!
I recently completed Phase 1 of RevAbs and about to start with Phase 2. So far I really like it! The workouts have the right intensity for someone who is somewhat in shape already. Not too extreme yet a really good challenge. And with only 30-40 minutes per workout it won't cut into your evening like some of the longer programs out there.
As the title suggests this program is all about getting your abs ripped. And Brett Hoebel the trainer made a science out of it. The comprehensive program comes with a nutrition guide with some neat meal ideas a results tracker and tape measure (which I never used) the Anytime Anywhere Abs folder plan (this one comes in handy when I travel for business) and a wall calendar to track my progress. The poster-like calendar hangs in my basement where I work out. My greatest pleasure is to check off each exercise as I plow through the workout every day. Love it.
Does it work?
After 4 weeks I have lost several pounds in my mid section thanks to more conscientious eating and of course the rather cardio-heavy Phase 1 exercises. I can't wait to start with Phase 2 to really chisel my abs. I definitely start to see some definition and that's very motivating.
Overall RevAbs is a really fun and well thought-out program. The trainer Brett is entertaining and has an infectious energy. Give this one a try!
